When you see robots with human faces and eyes, don't you believe real humans need to be shure to be understand by the robots. It's like babies education, " Does he understand me? " " Is this smile for me ? ". Robots do not need to have a head or eyes but human need to reassure himself. A.I will not be an artificial brain, it will not even be in a single robot. A.I is like the web, the begining the robotic civilisation, no more individuality... no more humans.

More and more music video with robots. The first step to integrate robotic in daily life is to choose a media accepted by everyone. If you considere this from the robot's point of view, it could be a message like " Let me in !". Robots is becoming something music artists have to includ in their video. Do they understand the meaning, most of mass music could not exist with out electronic systems. If visually robot is replacing the performers we are at the begining of a post human entertainement.

If the japanese automobile industry started to think about robot in the 70's, everybody is now turning to robotic research ( except old Europ... may be ). It's a real turning point, the end of the individual vision of our world. I feel strange to see a robot wearing a long sleeves tee shirt . is it necessary in space?

Fly me...

Flying robot is may be the most powerfull dream for civil security and army. In 2006 when I won a price in Japan for my research on future robots, the jury asked me which part of my robotic prospect could be develop. I answered " The battery-fly " and I feel more and more I was right. I believe in personal assistant flying and helping you to find your own way in town, may be more poetic than weapon project.

Human desire

For many fans, the question of the fonction and the purpose of creating humanoid shape is central in the robotic creation. This poll answers and show us what is the preoccupation of future buyers. Research for A.I will be only developped for human pleasure?

My very good friend Thierry Spencer opened a blog dedicated to Miss Client, the companies females characters helping you on the websites. For the first time on the web, it was possible to vote for your favorite girl. Beyond the basic idea of election, one more time the question about the limit between reality and virtuality is still on.My wondering is the same as in my short movie OMBRE, "Does the artificial intelligence using us to grow until it will no need us any more ?"

Marketing confusion

This video is confusing me, what's the fact for the presence of fanta into this demonstration.No need to have the cans, is it because the robotic ingenieers are drinking Fanta? Is Fanta a sponsor of ABB or ... Robots are drinkings Fanta?
The message is at first " We are making the most precise and fast robots" and becoming " Fanta is the drink of the future"

One more time, robot is suppose to help people but it seems also less human fonction is good for robot invasion. Will we be lazy, more and more until we could not survive by ourself.The posthuman could begin like that, with a regressive form of life. First step is " Why walking when a robot can do it for you? "

I wanted to confront those two images because there an interesting question about the robot and the design. The reference was from the begining the human shape and recnt research are turning to the zoomorph style. As always the fonction make the design. For this reason human shape will probably be abandoned. The reason is humans are building robots to replace human workers, who were never considered as men but machines. In the first video, robot replace the bride, this reminds us the status of women as house wife, old style. Cooking, cleaning,washing, a perfect robot for macho men. The elegance and the fragility of is far from this fake bride.
In the second video, we have a fascinating movement, reminds us why we stay in front of an aquarium, looking at the fish movement. Looking even at industrial robot is also hypnotic.It's an open design, a fantastic bestiary, directly conected to our imagination.

Motoman robot Okonomiyaki maker

This robot is a showing an interesting point. Okonomiyaki is a moment of pleasure and social relation communication trought selfcooking. Making Okonomiyaki by robot is cutting this relation between two people or a community like familly. Robotization is concerning the world of hard work or human assistance. This one is deprive human of pleasure. The pleasure and food is very well connect in our brain, it is very negative to cut it off. In this case I considere Okonomiyaki robot as a bad robot. How a new and young couple could see if they match if someone is making Okonomiyaki for them?
